Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 15, 2026

The Turn At ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application The Turn At (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information (email, username, password, profile picture, age—if provided during signup)
  • User-generated content (posts, comments, photos, messages)
  • Payment information (processed securely by third-party providers; we do not store full card details)
  • Customer support communications

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information (device model, OS version, unique device identifiers, IP address, mobile carrier)
  • Usage data (app features used, time spent, crash logs, performance metrics)
  • Location data (precise or approximate), but only if you grant permission for features that require it (e.g., local meetups or geo-tagged content)

We do not collect or use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS or AAID on Android) for cross-app tracking or behavioral profiling. We minimize data collection to what is necessary for the App's core features.

C. Information from Third Parties

  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
  • Social login providers (if you sign in with Google, Apple, or similar)
  • In-app vendor partners (for sponsored or contextual promotions, if applicable)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • Personalize your experience (e.g., content recommendations or connections)
  • Process transactions (if applicable)
  • Send service-related communications
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Serve contextual or vendor-sponsored advertising (e.g., promotions from in-app partners)
  • Conduct analytics and research

We do not build user profiles for behavioral targeting or serve ads based on cross-app activity or long-term personal interests. Any preferential display of vendor promotions is based solely on in-app context or basic usage patterns.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processors, cloud storage) under strict contracts that require them to protect your data
  • In-app advertising and measurement partners (limited to non-identifiable or aggregated data for contextual promotions)
  • Business partners (with your consent where required)
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
  • To comply with laws, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights and safety

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA/UK Users — GDPR)

We process personal data only when we have a lawful basis, such as:

  • Performance of a contract (to provide the App)
  • Legitimate interests (e.g., improving the service, security, analytics—balanced against your rights)
  • Consent (e.g., for precise location or certain marketing)
  • Legal obligation

You can withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing).

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location (including Georgia, California, or other jurisdictions), you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, update, or delete your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (under CCPA/CPRA or similar US laws)
  • Opt out of targeted advertising (if applicable in the future)
  • Withdraw consent

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@theturnat.com. We respond within the time required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information — If you are a California resident (or covered by similar laws), submit an opt-out request via the email above or in-app settings (if available). We honor Global Privacy Controls (GPC) signals where required by law.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. For example:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active, plus a reasonable period after deletion or inactivity
  • Usage and analytics data: typically retained for 12–24 months, then anonymized or deleted

You can request deletion (subject to legal exceptions, such as retaining data for security or compliance).

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. International Transfers

If you are outside the United States (including users in Japan or the EU), your data may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries. We use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EU/EEA data transfers.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may link to or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices—review their policies directly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the Effective Date. For material changes, we will provide in-app notice or other reasonable notification.
